Discovering the Gorges du Verdon


The Haut Var and the Alpes de Haute Provence are fabulous resources for the most athletic among you. Indeed, the most fond of outdoor activities will be served!

So quickly put on your swimsuits and come and experience the thrill of white water!

You have the choice between several disciplines according to your desires: rather for improvement, adventure or simple discovery. A fantastic setting in the largest canyon in Europe near the Lac de Sainte Croix (Moustier Sainte Marie) and Castellane, with experienced and qualified instructors. Add to this an abundance of water, especially in the spring (snow melting), and you have there enough to experience great sensations.



The guides generally have the right to cancel any activity when the weather conditions are bad or if the sailing conditions are dangerous, they are responsible for you and will not take any risks! You will benefit from concise and concrete explanations to make you feel comfortable and enjoy your activity in complete safety.
 
Please note that equipment will always be provided (thermal clothing):

However, never forget: your sports shoes (flip-flops or open-toed shoes are strongly discouraged, your toes must be protected from the rocky environment around you), a swimsuit, and something to hydrate you, your sunglasses, T-shirt and sunscreen!

To sum up, the routes of the Gorges du Verdon are from Castellane du " Point Sublime ", they last from 8km to 23km, they cost between 33 euros and 63 euros per person and can be done for 1h30 or for the day (with a picnic provided at the water's edge...).

For nature lovers, if you are lucky and present during the right period of the year (April, May, June in particular), when you sail on the Haut Verdon you will potentially see chamois and marmots, a real spectacle!

If you wish to go on a Water Walk :

This is the flagship activity of the Verdon, you will walk, swim, jump in the heart of the grand canyon! For half a day or more, it's a return to your roots. Here there is little equipment required apart from a good mood: you put yourself on your back, feet forward and let yourself be carried along by the rhythm of the current effortlessly and with a smile.

Swimming, sliding, walking, small jumps, natural tobogganing, everything is gathered in this descent to satisfy everyone!

A good experience to take your eyes off, a little more fun and relaxed than a hike on foot.

If you wish to go canoeing and kayaking :

Aboard a boat of one or two places you are master of your adventure to discover the Low Gorges of the Verdon which flow between the dam of Sainte Croix du Verdon to the dam of Gréoux les bains.

Usually a technical activity practiced by the most adventurous, sporty among you, it is however a sport accessible to all. You can choose a course adapted to take full advantage of the landscape of this exceptional site or a more sporting course to offer you a beautiful session in white water for the regulars of the sport.

If you want to do Hydrospeed : 

This is the activity that all young people love, hydrospeed has different qualities from those mentioned above. No experience is required, a board and flippers and off you go for a memorable descent. It's tiring, but the fun is worth it! The course of the Verdon is your playground, especially if you are an athletic minimum.

If you want to go canyoning: 

Canyoning consists in progressing in the bed of the river whose flow goes from weak to important, walking in gorges or narrow ravines, with waterfalls of various heights. You will have the joy of discovering a fabulous landscape and a true extreme sport!

Several routes are proposed. For an initiation, the Jabron canyon on the left bank of the Verdon. This course is perfect for discovering this unusual sport it combines a discovery walk and small passages on rope to feel the first sensations provided by this sport. For a sporty canyoning, a course juggling with heights and abseiling sequences. This sometimes vertiginous course leads to the bed of the Verdon.
